The 1st conference on dog population management organized by FERA and ICAM was a huge success. 170 people from over 80 different countries were present to hear about the newest spay and neuter techniques, conditions to make a success of attempts to control street dog populations, new techniques to collect data etc. The conference is for AFP impetus to reassess and redefine its programs for affiliated foundations. Human welfare, data collection, up scaling and optimal participation of all stakeholders will be key elements of our future approach and recommendations. AFP will also focus on attracting links with larger organizations and existing projects on dog population management. Cooperation, connection and sharing will stay the basic elements of our philosophy.
